Description:

The Human Resources Manager position calls for an engaged professional individual with a solid track record, and strong sense of judgment and logic. This position leads the full human resources (HR) function at the property level, acts as the subject matter expert and provides guidance and coaching on all HR matters to the property and the leadership team. This role requires a seasoned leader with acute decision-making skills who serves as mentor and communicates with senior management to resolve issues and manage projects. With the assistance of a combination of Human Resources Advisor, Coordinator, Assistant/Intern the incumbent develops implements and administers all HR programs including, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, performance management, employment legislation, policy interpretation and collective agreement interpretation.

Responsibilities:

Develops and implements an employee relations and labour relations strategy to attract, retain and motivate the skilled workforce. Designs, plans and implements company-wide employee relations and labour relations programs and policies in support of the overall HR strategy. Leads employee relations processes including arbitrations, discipline and termination procedures. Actively partners with the management team in the establishment of the strategic direction for the business, including identification of organizational development needs and overall alignment of HR programs and systems to achieve business results. Manages all employee and labour relations issues at the property. Works proactively with management, employees and the Union to ensure a productive and respectful workplace. Manages all grievances at the property. Takes part in collective agreement negotiations. Delivers full recruitment services including front end needs analysis, job postings, sourcing, interviewing, and employee offers. Leads the development and implementation of programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels. Provides coaching and resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, training, compensation, recruitment, performance management and employee relations programs. Assists in compiling relative HR metrics, analysis and reporting.
