Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center has an exciting opportunity available for a skilled, resourceful and motivated individual who would like to make a difference in the lives of others in helping a non-for-profit organization fulfill its mission to provide quality health care. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, ensure appropriate accounting control procedures and responsible for all purchasing for organization. Additional responsibilities include; but, are not limited to:
Reporting and posting cash disbursements cash receipts and general ledger journal entries.
Performs daily, weekly, monthly reconciliations.
Review all accounts payable invoices and input into accounting system
Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Assist financial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process along with Finance staff.
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
Responsible for maintaining fixed asset inventories and depreciation schedule.
Obtain bids from companies and price compare for lowest price.
Track and report the processing status of all purchase orders and invoices.
Maintain good housekeeping practices in all storerooms and the printing room.
Maintain an inventory by cost and object on all supplies and maintain a stock level for reporting for reorder.
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree majoring in Finance/Accounting required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, and auditing. Knowledge of GAAP practices and principles.
