Description:

We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in the construction industry, based in the Greater San Fernando Valley. The role involves managing customer accounts, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating the payment of invoices by reaching out to clients
  • Processing construction monthly AIA billings as directed
  • Following established procedures for processing and posting payments
  • Interacting with customers, superiors, and internal staff to resolve outstanding issues
  • Monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
  • Working with vendors for California lien and release forms
  • Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
  • Working on additional office tasks and miscellaneous projects as required
  • Communicating with customers via phone and email effectively
  • Utilizing accounting software systems and MS Office tools for various tasks.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction/contractor industry.
  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in Accounting Functions.
  • Previous experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary.
  • Familiarity with Billing Functions.
  • Experience with AIA Billing and AIA Documents.
  • Must have a strong understanding of Construction Accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding accounting in the construction industry.
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
