Description

Involves analytics on NIH-supported programs including training programs while providing assistance with administration, and overall support to program PI. Under limited supervision, with regular PI communications and consultations, independently performs a range of program management responsibilities for the Regenerative Medicine/Gene Therapy Research Programs, Translational Stem Cell Shared Research Facility (TSRF), Multimodal Imaging Core, and Regenerative Medicine/Gene Therapy Training programs for students and other trainees. Experienced professional with programmatic management skills that includes outreach and communications; coordination and progress monitoring of multiple projects, training programs, students, outreach events, collaborative opportunities, training sessions, and monitoring of TSRF accounts and supplies needs. In-depth understanding of the professional field; possess broad job knowledge and ability to analyze problems / issues of diverse scope and identifies solutions. Use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment and confidentiality in methods, techniques, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). In partnership with the PI, the program’s scientific members, and research and management groups, perform short and long-term strategic planning assistance to accomplish program goals and objectives, and provide oversight and direction on a daily basis for a range of students (undergraduate to postdoctoral fellows) to ensure all training program requirements are met. Prepare reports and presentations as needed; conduct searches using NIH navigation tools. Oversee purchase orders and equipment purchases, maintenance and service contracts, and self-sustainability of services and campus approved recharge rates on an annual basis. Monitor and update websites as needed and utilize communication strategies in support of overall goals and objectives integrating with national priorities. Provide guidance and support to trainees as needed. Perform a range of administrative tasks at the highest quality level and with strict attention to detail, accuracy, and quality assurance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - FOR FULL CONSIDERATION, APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO UPLOAD LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATION IF REQUIRED OF THE POSITION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience with developing organizational structure and developing administrative policies and procedures for implementation. Have experience with university-based research concepts, principles, and conduct of research and training that includes thorough knowledge of administrative and financial principles and practices.
  • Professional experience in administrative operations and programmatic management that includes managing, planning, and oversight for administrative and programmatic activities of the day-to-day operations of several complex research and training programs with primary responsibility for administrative activities.
  • Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Analytical / problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Which would include the ability to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) to use word processing, desktop publishing software, and management systems used to create scientific content and communications for print and websites.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in coordination with PI/Program Director in managing the day-to-day needs of training programs and projects assigned to enable the PI to accomplish research, teaching, and training goals and objectives and meet programmatic needs.
  • Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Show demonstrated skills, knowledge, and ability to work with PI to establish program agendas, and formulate project goals, objectives, and assessment of program effectiveness.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing complex information to provide a sound basis for establishing priorities, with strict attention to detail in all cases.
  • Experience identifying and using the most effective communication approaches, particularly to communicate difficult issues and sensitive information.
  • Experience with developing administrative policies and procedures and implementation.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to work closely with the PI and all research staff and administrative personnel on a daily basis regarding all aspects of the position assuring appropriate level of transparency, effective communications, reporting on the status of events, and training grants consistent with required timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in coordination with PI/Program Director in managing the day-to-day needs of the programs.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to address sensitive issues and demonstrate effective interpersonal communications associated with translational research.
