Description The Agronomy Internship at Kanza Cooperative Association provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in crop production, precision agriculture, and agronomy services. Interns will work alongside our agronomy team to learn about crop management, soil fertility, equipment operation, and customer service while supporting day-to-day operations. Requirements Responsibilities Learn about Kanza Cooperative Association agronomy products, services, and inventory management. Assist with equipment maintenance and maintain service records. Calibrate machines to ensure field-ready status prior to the season. Support crop scouting, staging, and data collection to assist agronomy staff with recommendations. Perform fertilizer and soil sampling; assist in developing recommendations based on analysis and yield goals. Assist with blending fertilizer and mixing crop protection products in compliance with labels and safety standards. Operate equipment and technology used in precision agriculture. Uphold professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic both in the field and in the community. Attend required meetings, trainings, and field days as assigned. Education Desired Currently pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or related field (preferred but not required). Key Skills & Qualifications Strong interest in agronomy and crop production systems. Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from agronomy sales staff. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail. Ability to read maps, follow directions, and operate equipment with computer-assisted technology. Willingness to learn and grow industry knowledge. Recommended Experience/Background Agricultural background or interest in agriculture preferred. Previous experience not required training provided. Training & Development Opportunities Hands-on product training and participation in field days. Mentorship and career development opportunities with senior agronomy staff. Exposure to precision agriculture technology and modern crop management practices.
