As an Applied Research Co-op, you will help develop and test water analysis devices and systems including probes, electronics, smart controls, and data analytics. Under the guidance of the Director of Applied Research, Controls & Connectivity, you will work independently and as part of a team, researching and learning new skills and applying them to your job. You’ll learn how to work in a professional environment and have ample opportunity to network with professionals in the Watts Water Technologies organization. You will work a hybrid schedule, Monday to Wednesday in office, out of North Andover, MA.

You Will:

  • Setup an electrochemical cell to perform voltammetry and run experiments. Program a potentiostat, mix solutions, perform experiments, collect data, analyze results. Make recommendations to improve repeatability and accuracy of the process.
  • Troubleshoot the cell operation and electrochemical result.
  • Compare different potentiostat models and results.
  • With a pH sensor, analyze pH accuracy and sensitivity. Evaluate reading drift over time. Make recommendations to improve pH sensing results.
  • Evaluate ability to read pH with a potentiostat.
  • Research and make recommendations for accuracy and stability for the electronics and electrochemical cell.
  • Prepare electrodes for experiments.

You Have:

  • Current Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrochemistry or Chemistry with electrical engineering/electronics.
  • Record of academic achievement (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA)
  • Familiarity with any of the following: data analytics, machine learning, electronics, mechanical design.
  • The ability to be independent learner.
  • Interest in learning about Watts Water Technologies.
  • The requirement of being authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
