Responsibilities:

ALL ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Assistant CAD Technician to join our team, this is a great opportunity to become part of an integral team who are operating in a high volume, fast paced environment. This role is not a design role, it’s an end-to-end customer focused delivery opportunity, balancing between interpreting, creating & producing digital drawings & 3D models from the customers specifications & requirements to aid in the programming of our profiling machines. We are looking for the right individual to help drive the company forward and be part of a talented and dedicated team.

SPECIFIC TASKS COULD INCLUDE:

  • Programming for profiling machines such as lasers & saws
  • Producing digital drawings & 3D models from the customers specifications & requirements
  • Minimising waste & scrap per program.
  • Responsible for machine workload
  • Working with operators to achieve overall Equipment Effectiveness
  • Customer liaison on a daily basis
  • Liaising with all internal departments

Essential Skills for the role:

  • Excellent verbal, written & numeracy skills.
  • Experience as a CAD Technician in a similar heavy industry environment, ideally within the steel industry
  • Expertise in Solidworks and ideally Artube Lasertube Programming Software
  • Must have confident computer skills & a good understanding of Microsoft Applications with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills including the ability to manage time and prioritise effectively.
  • A positive flexible attitude and approach.
  • Team focused
  • Has worked in a similar CAD technologist role in the steel industry or similar heavy industry in the U
