Assistant Plant Superintendent

at  Sunday River

Overview:
As the Assistant Plant Superintendent, you will assist the Plant Superintendent in overseeing all aspects of the snowmaking facilities to include pumps, air compressors, VFD’s, cooking systems, and buildings to include training, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various components. This is a full-time year-round position.
Schedule availability: Winter 6:30 AM-7 PM (day) or 6:30 PM-7 AM (grave). Summer 6 AM-4 PM or 7 AM-5 PM. Weekdays, weekends, holidays. Overtime required. Hours are weather dependent.

Responsibilities:

• All responsibilities of a Snowmaking Plant Operator
• Coach the Snowmaking plant operators while providing positive and constructive feedback
• Operate, inspect, and maintain all aspects of the pump and compressor houses during the specified shift
• Work alongside the shift Assistant Manager and Supervisors to maximize the production and efficiency of the system
• Develop intimate knowledge of ISNO
• Ensure effective communication between shifts
• Complete all required paperwork in all the location at the specified intervals
• Execute predetermined maintenance routines and follow all standard operating procedures
• Operate the snowmaking system and associated equipment according to the standard operating procedures outlined by the Plant Superintendent
• Actively troubleshoot issues and produce constructive solutions
• Assist the Snowmaking Plant Superintendent in manager the inventory of all snowmaking supplies and materials
• Work with the on-mountain team to execute the maintenance and capital projects to include welding, cleaning, erosion control, gun placement, pipe installation, and tree work among others.
• Assist the Plant Superintendent with maintenance on the snowmaking infrastructure.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management or supervisor with a positive attitude

Qualifications:

• Strong communication
• Basic knowledge of desktop computer systems and applications
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions
• Basic welding knowledge to include SMAW
• General knowledge of the Sunday River Snowmaking System
• Positive, solutions-oriented leadership
• Flexible with hours and days of work
