Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Research Staff with an ownership mindset to maintain thin film coating tools and equipment. In this role you will

  • Maintain thin film coating tools, materials, and analytical instruments
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform minor repairs
  • Write test procedures and quick start guides
  • Assist with thin film coating
  • Coordinate with EHS manager to maintain safety measures
  • Occasionally build test stands to perform experiments
  • Help with experimental setups, conduct experiments to support research activities, gather data, analyze and present results to fellow scientists.

You will have a wonderful opportunity to work with Thermal evaporation, electron beam evaporation, sputter, OLED, ALD, CVD, and Etch tools. You will also have the opportunity to work on new innovations with scientists from many of our core competencies.

Qualifications

  • Good knowledge and experience of thin film coating tools, and related equipment
  • Experience with troubleshooting tools such as Helium leak detector, Oscilloscope, and DVM.
  • Experience with vacuum pumps, Chillers, and Helium Cryopumps/Compressors.
  • Good knowledge of chemical hood usage, chemical hazards, high voltage safety.
  • Good writing skills to create documents such as incident reports, protocols, quick start guides.
  • Knowledge of small vacuum test stand set up to run research experiments.
  • Knowledge of communicating to instruments using LabVIEW, python, or any other software.
  • Knowledge of hazardous chemicals used in Semiconductor industries is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming is preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s of Science is preferred, although additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Information
For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $80,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
