French - Full Employment Fraser Valley School and Diamond School, both non-denominational independent schools in Surrey, BC, have officially merged into one new school: Crescent Heights Academy, and we have big plans for our future. With 650 students from K-12 in 2024, our population will grow to 700 students in the following few years. Job Description- Athletic Director (0.50) PE (0.50) (1.0 FTE) Senior Level Commences: August 2025 Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Further and develop CHAs athletics vision Guide the progress of and provide mentorship for our coaches and athletes Be a part of school spirit opportunities/initiatives and oversee lunch intramurals Seek out and provide the opportunity for Professional Development for coaches Coach at least one team throughout the year Plan, schedule and host weekend tournaments and championship finals. Being a member of the GVISAA and overseeing its functioning Create and maintain adequate communication channels with parents, athletes, coaches, and teachers Assign coaching roles to faculty which meet the needs of the students and faculty Assess the state of the program and decide on the refinement of programming to best serve the CHA community Schedule buses, officials, and where applicable for athletic fixtures Help design, purchase, organize, and allocate uniforms Facilitate the ordering, distribution, collection, and maintenance of equipment Manage the budget for Athletics Work collaboratively with others to plan and deliver programming Provide core instruction and assessment of BC Ministry ADST curriculum as well as MYP Design Design and facilitate learning experiences and engagements that inspire, engage, motive, and challenge learners Develop a caring classroom environment with positive relationships at the core Monitor, guide, give feedback and assess student learning using a range of tools and strategies Communicate effectively and regularly with colleagues, students, and their families Lead after school clubs or teams Additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the Head of School and as outlined in our Staff Handbook Be a contributor within the school community Qualifications: A Bachelor of Education Hold a valid BC teaching certificate IB training is considered an asset Experience teaching in an intermediate elementary or middle school setting, ideally in an independent IB school Passion and commitment to inquiry-based and concept driven instruction Canadian resident and be legally entitled to work in Canada First Aid Certificate Strong classroom management skills Collaborative team member Effective communication skills A self-starter, someone who sees a need, and strives for solutions This position is full- time.
