QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Experience/knowledge working with schematic entry and PCB layout design tools and their process (Cadence tool suite is an asset).
  • Experience with schematic design, layout design, design for EMC, engineering calculations and analysis (e.g. WCCA and simulations).
  • Experience working with standard automotive communication bus hardware integration (e.g. LIN and CAN).
  • Experience in Troubleshooting with a Multimeter and Oscilloscope.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience in an Automotive Embedded Hardware Product Design role
  • Experience working with project launch cycles for automotive is an asset.
  • Knowledge of automotive APQP terms is an asset.
  • Knowledge of ISO-26262 Functional Safety and ASPICE is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize the ALM tool Codebeamer to analyze requirements to derive hardware design requirements, verification and validation criteria
  • Develop Embedded Electronic solutions to meet customer needs through creative use of core product designs and new technologies by ensuring compliance to stakeholder requirements, IPC and other regulatory standards, utilizing best practices such as WCCA, thermal and EMC simulations and other such standard tools.
  • Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype and validate product design solutions in support of customer and internal core team timing requirements.
  • Establish and maintain adequate records of technical information, process methods/std’s, design and program details/info, and records to support/procure reliable patent actions.
  • Ensure products are reviewed for best practice from a Design for Excellence (DFX) perspective including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Testability (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) to ensure design delivery to product targets.
  • Completes any other assignments, duties and projects that may be assigned
