We are really excited to advertise this development post for a passionate and enthusiastic , HCPC registered, Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
We have a small, friendly Psychology team comprising of a Principle Clinical Psychologist, a highly specialist Clinical psychologist, a CBT therapist and 2 Assistant Psychologists.
We are committed to trauma informed care, and we practice from a range of models such as psychodynamic, schema informed therapy, CBT, DBT. We adjust all our work to meet the needs of neurodivergent people.
We have very close links with our local Clinical Psychology Doctoral courses, and we routinely offer Adult and specialist placements to trainee Clinical Psychologists.
We would encourage 3rd year trainee Clinical Psychologists to apply for the vacancy, especially if your specialist placement is in CMHT/Complex mental Health services. This vacancy provides excellent career development opportunity and the successful candidate will be supported to access formal psychological therapy training, supported by NHSE on modalities such as SCM, CAT, CBT for Psychosis, to help us deliver the CMHT Transformation agenda and the NHS Long term plan.
The Trust is committed to supporting career progression for Practitioner Psychologists and the successful candidate will be supported with extensive professional and clinical supervision frameworks and opportunities to develop their specialist clinical and professional skills, through an extensive and well-resourced CPD structure.
For the qualified 8A candidate supervision training is essential.

To provide a highly specialist psychology service to clients with complex psychological and mental health presentations. To provide specialist psychological assessment and interventions as well as providing consultation and advice on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.
To supervise trainees, assistant psychologists and other qualified psychological practitioners as agreed. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. To regularly engage with clinical supervision and CPD activities, according to professional registration requirements.
CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care – including the provision of three GP surgeries.
