POSITION DESCRIPTION

Surrey Place is seeking a Behaviour Analyst. The successful applicant will report to the Manager, Early Years Services. This position will be responsible for providing Applied Behaviour Analytic (ABA) assessment, treatment, consultation, workshops, education and resource support to clients, families, professionals, and organizations, including daycares and community partners in the developmental sector with the goal of reducing problem behaviours and enhancing skills. Travel across Toronto is required for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in ABA, psychology, health, or related field.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario as a Registered Behaviour Analyst.
  • Five years of related experience working in ABA.
  • In-depth theoretical, practical knowledge of ABA principles.
  • Specialized knowledge required for conducting functional assessments.
  • Demonstrated, broad-based knowledge and experience working with young children (under 6 years of age) with developmental disabilities, including mental health and/or autism, and a consultative model of service delivery.
  • Knowledge of community-based services and systems.
  • Experience with assessing mediator abilities/challenges and modifying strategies to meet their needs.
  • Experience working on an interdisciplinary team and in dealing with young children (under 6 years of age) who have dual diagnosis, mental health or complex needs would also be an asset.
  • Experience with providing support to schools, families, caregivers and daycares using a mediator model of service delivery would be an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent teamwork, organization and communication skills.
  • The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Police Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) and proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct behavioural assessments including Functional Analysis, and others.
  • Create behaviour treatment plans and protocols that are aligned with client and family goals.
  • Provide consultation and/or direct service to clients, families, and/or caregivers as appropriate.
  • Provide consultation and outreach to other professionals, schools, and daycares.
  • Deliver formal and informal wellness and professional development workshops.
  • Work with various professionals and support staff to develop resources using principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and effective strategies for socially significant behaviour change.
