Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the beverage program, including the selection, procurement, and management of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. This role ensures the highest quality of products, exceptional service, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar role internationally or a minimum of 2 years in a luxury hotel, high-end restaurant demonstrating a strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in overall Beverage operations, particularly in a leadership role, indicating a comprehensive understanding of Beverage operations effectively in a guest-facing role, ideally within an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel, high-end restaurant demonstrating customer service skills in a hospitality setting.
  • Capability to obtain and/or maintain any necessary government-required licenses, certificates, or permits essential for the role.
  • In-depth knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and beverage trends; familiarity with industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in beverage preparation techniques, familiarity with health department regulations, and a solid understanding of liquor laws and regulations governing bar operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively communicate with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Capability to cultivate positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues across all departments to promote teamwork and efficiency.
  • Comfortable working independently while also demonstrating the ability to collaborate with others to foster a supportive and cooperative team environment

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage beverage inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing waste.
  • Supplier Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality products.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative beverage menus that align with the overall dining experience.
  • Staff Training: Train and supervise staff on beverage service, including wine and cocktail preparation, and ensure adherence to service standards.
  • Cost Control: Analyze beverage costs and sales, implementing strategies to improve profitability while maintaining quality.
  • Compliance: Ensure all beverage operations comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding alcohol service.
  • Customer Engagement: Interact with guests to gather feedback and provide recommendations, enhancing the overall guest experience.
  • Promotions: Develop and execute promotional events to drive beverage sales and increase customer engagement.
