POSITION OVERVIEW:

The BSA/AML Operations Manager will oversee the BSA/AML Alert Surveillance Team as well as BSA Operations covering Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), CTR Exemptions, and the New Account Verification Unit (NAVU) Team. The BSA/AML Operations Manager is to ensure timely disposition and escalation of potential BSA/AML/EDD CDD alerts and escalate to the BSA Officer where needed, analyze trends and volumes of alert generations, provide for feedback on quality control reviews of alert disposition comments, involved in meeting with various business lines that support BSA Operational activities such as the opening of new accounts, and ensure that CTRs and CTR Eligible customers and related exemptions are filed in accordance with regulation. Maintain records with appropriate audit trails to be used as support during internal and external audits and regulatory examinations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, etc.2 years of management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills combined with a demonstrated ability to clearly understand, translate and articulate projects, objectives, goals, schedules and assignments across various personnel and management levels.
  • Ability to work effectively with Bank staff at all levels as well as with outside vendors and regulators.
  • Knowledge of laws applicable to money laundering, to include the BSA, The USA Patriot Act, U.S. Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements.
  • Experience in banking services, branch operations, risk management or other related functions essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills. Strong time management skills.
  • Must be highly flexible, multi-task oriented, and capable of changing directions based on immediate business demands.
  • Basic Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain oversight of the BSA Operations of the Department, including but not limited to BSA/AML/EDD Alert Surveillance Team, CTRs, and the New Account Verification Unit.
  • Communicate with various areas of the organization and customers to assist in investigating possible BSA/AML situations.
  • Support various BSA/AML related activities, including reporting and trend analysis for the volume of alerts and disposition within the team.
  • Ensure CTR and CTR Exemption reporting occurs in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies. This includes interviewing, hiring, training and managing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and redirecting team members
