Description
The Health Specialist is a nurse or doctor who provides expertise and advice to the HSE function and to the Schlumberger Health Advisor on issues related to occupational/industrial hygiene, public health and sanitation, occupational medicine and toxicology within a defined location, country or Geomarket. To apply the principles of occupational health to the design, construction and operation of facilities. To identify and manage health hazards in accordance with risk assessment criteria. To provide advice and proposals for hazard reduction and other corrective or mitigating actions. To organize the provision of relevant occupational health education, training and information to managers, employees and. contractor personnel. To provide appropriate health surveillance with the purpose of confirming the effectiveness of control measures and to. identify biological and adverse health effects. To organize the assessment for fitness to work of certain specific tasks and exposures while observing national and local regulations and industry guidelines.
Responsibilities
The Health Specialist provides expertise and advice on occupational health issues, including hygiene, public health, and toxicology. They are responsible for identifying health hazards, managing risks, and organizing health education and training for personnel.
