KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated success in business development or account management within the construction, landscaping, or building materials sector.
  • In-depth understanding of distributor and stockist sales channels, ideally within the merchant or trade supply environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and convert growth opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
  • Flexibility to travel regionally and nationally for customer visits, trade shows, and partner meetings.
  • Proficient with CRM systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a crucial role in driving the continued growth of Joint-It Ltd in the UK market. The role’s responsibilities are to identify and secure new business opportunities while maintaining and growing our existing network of stockists and distribution partners. The BDM will build strong long-term customer relationships, increase product and range visibility, as well as contribute to the company’s long-term sales strategy and market development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive growth across Joint-It’s network of stockists.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and networking at relevant events.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including builders’ merchants, contractors, landscaping professionals, and stockists.
  • Deliver engaging product presentations and training sessions tailored to key customers and stockists.
  • Increase product and range visibility across stockist locations and within their customer networks.
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to support product positioning and sales strategy.
  • Support commercial discussions and agreement of terms that align with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Provide regular sales reporting, pipeline updates, and territory insights to the National Sales Manager UK.
  • Meet and exceed agreed KPIs including monthly sales targets, customer visit quotas, and territory development milestones.
  • Collaborate with the National Sales Manager UK and internal teams including customer service and logistics to ensure strong delivery and customer satisfaction.
