Job description:
A well-established and growing multi-discipline engineering firm is currently seeking a Civil CAD Designer to join its talented design team. This opportunity is open in a number of locations for one of our prestigious supporting a variety of land development, municipal, and transportation-related projects across eastern Pennsylvania.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for civil design, a strong command of AutoCAD Civil 3D, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with civil engineers, project managers, and other technical professionals on a wide range of infrastructure and site development projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in civil site and roadway design using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficient in the use of core Civil 3D tools, including:
  • Grading and surface modeling
  • Pipe networks (stormwater, sanitary, water)
  • Alignments and profiles
  • Corridor modeling and cross sections
  • Vehicle tracking tools
  • Experience preparing land development, grading, utility, and roadway design plans
  • Familiarity with stormwater management practices, including low-impact development (LID) and green infrastructure
  • Knowledge of PennDOT standards, right-of-way planning, and transportation design guidelines is a strong plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to provide work samples and specific examples of completed projects during the interview process

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings and plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D (2018 or newer), including site layout, grading, utility, roadway, and stormwater plans
  • Utilize Civil 3D tools for corridor modeling, alignments, profiles, surfaces, and pipe networks
  • Support engineering staff in the preparation of land development plans including residential, commercial, and institutional sites
  • Assist in preparing erosion & sediment control (E&SC) plans and post-construction stormwater management (PCSM) designs in accordance with state and local regulations
  • Collaborate on the development of PennDOT roadway and right-of-way plans, supporting both new and existing transportation infrastructure
  • Interpret and apply municipal and state standards to technical drawings, ensuring plans meet regulatory compliance
  • Perform revisions and edits to plans based on engineer mark-ups, permitting agency comments, and client feedback
  • Coordinate with internal project teams to meet client expectations, project milestones, and established deadlines
  • Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, while maintaining accuracy and quality of deliverables
