Description:
CAMPUS SAFETY OFFICER - SUBSTITUTE
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks to build a group of substitute Campus Safety Officers to join a thriving school that is committed to providing a relevant and student-centered learning experience.
Responsibilities - Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, the Campus Safety Officers will be responsible for the following:
- Provide safety and security services while on duty at any of the school campuses. Coverage may be for days, afternoons, evenings or weekends.
- Ensure a safe learning environment for the school’s students, faculty, staff, families, and visitors.
- Support the Lead Campus Safety Officers with campus/building security protocols - be a visible and accessible presence on campus.
- Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.
Qualifications - The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred:
- High School degree required.
- At least three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, public safety or the military. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
- Current Florida “D” (Guard) License and “G” (Gun) License required. Weapons qualification under HR 218, the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is preferred, but does not take the place of the required FL licensure.
- Current CPR, First Aid and AED certification or ability to obtain before an offer of employment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to write reports and routine correspondence.
- Preferred NASRO basic School Resource Officer certification or equivalent.
