Capital Accountant

The Capital Accountant is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of all capital elements of the Capital Budget, and medium-term financial strategy which they will work with senior officers to produce. This will include reviewing and evaluating all Capital Business Cases. The role will also include maintenance and development of the Trust’s Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including the setting up of new projects/assets, ensuring that the records are complete, up to date and accurate and being accountable for the integrity of the capital elements of the Trusts core accounting systems and records. The role will take primary responsibility for providing accurate and timely information on all capital works including projects and monitor costs against budget, cash-flow related matters against budgets, reforecasting and long-term plan indicators.
The role will also be responsible for the maintenance and production of capital financial performance reports including management and statutory accounts, regulatory returns and annual budgets and reforecasts and provide capital information as required for statutory returns within agreed deadlines For a full list of duties & responsibilities, please see job description & person specificatio
