Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to join our Camping Team. This role will be based in our state of the art, National Support office in Strathpine, Brisbane.
We are looking for a passionate Category Manager who will be responsible for maximising commercial outcomes for the Camping Category through alignment of the range offering with trade partners, customers, and the market – enabling a customer centric shopping experience and supporting sales and profit growth through the delivery of the BCF Strategy. Camping is continuing to be one of the most successful and growing categories for BCF.

Working across our BCF Camping range, each day will bring something different but key responsibilities of this role will be to:

  • Ensure financial results are delivered against Category budgets and business KPI’s
  • Strategic Business Planning of ranges to maximise sales and profit
  • Effectively manage all aspects of allocated category ensuring performance is aligned to business expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements
  • Complete regular and comprehensive range reviews
  • Motivate and guide individuals and, build high performing teams that leverage diversity; with a clear direction and focus on meeting business and personal goals
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve business priorities

To be successful in this role, you will be a results driven and outcome focused individual, you will also bring:

  • 5 + years’ experience in the retail industry – preferably in a buying or planning role
  • Experience in Management of gross profit, GMROI and Stock Turn
  • Flair for product and understanding the needs of the Customer
  • Margin management & pricing experience
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, direct sourcing
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • The ability to engage, build lasting relationships and influence key internal and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes
  • Experience in local or overseas product buying
  • Solid analytical skills, coupled with intermediate capabilities in Excel
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite, SAP and BW would be advantageous
  • Tertiary qualifications in Marketing or a Business discipline
  • Recognised training in Category Management and / or Australian Consumer La
