Description:
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Central Supply Technician performs the daily activities involved with all aspects of decontamination, cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, assembly and surgical supplies and equipment distribution including case carts function. The Central Supply Technician assists department supervisors in coordinating daily work levels to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency throughout all department functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must attend hands-on in-service and seminars pertaining to the Central Sterile Processing department
- Must be current within all aspects of instrumentation, cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, sterilization, packaging and sterile supplies
- Must be current in all areas of the Central Sterile Processing department
Preferred:
- 1 to 3 years Central Sterile Processing experience
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
- Shift working, 9:00 5:00pm
- Monday-Friday
- Per Diem
Responsibilities:
- Identify & understand written data and be able to read and write alpha and numeric data accurately
- Must be conscientious with regards to surgical procedures, nursing units clinical needs, and equipment procurement
- Interact professionally with other departments and personnel within the system including physicians
- Demonstrate a willingness to accept new responsibilities, ideas, and learn duties of the position and possess good organizational skills
- Assist SPD Supervisor with staff orientation, on the job training activities in the department
- Assume responsibility for the distribution of medical surgical supplies and equipment
- Accept pressure assignments, as assigned, relative to the department and work in a high stress, high volume department
