Responsibilities The Charge Nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation and coordination of patient care for a shift. She/he provides leadership to the staff by working cooperatively with the nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team to assure that care is given through utilization of the nursing process. Qualifications Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire Minimum 2 years of acute care experience. Preferred Job Requirements: Prior leadership or charge nurse experience
