About the role
We are looking for a Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering. In this role you will have an exciting opportunity to carry out engineering management assignments and to develop the engineering management processes in Fortum’s internal and external customer projects.
Your position in the organization is in the newly created Systems Engineering team of Engineering & Projects (E&P) business area, located in Espoo, Finland. You will be working with dedicated systems engineering team in close cooperation with other E&P experts.
Your main focus areas are:
Planning and leading project engineering activities with project managers
Defining and developing engineering management
Building up a road map for engineering management development
Putting the engineering management process into practice
Participating in defining and developing other systems engineering processes
More detailed focus areas and assignments are determined based on your experience. In this role you also have a possibility to coordinate and guide other experts in assignments.
The position is located in Espoo, Finland. However occasional travelling to Fortum fleet locations and to external international customers is to be expected. At the beginning, travelling to Loviisa nuclear power plant can be more frequent in order to familiarize with Loviisa nuclear power plant.
About you
We expect you to have strong experience and competencies in design activities related to power plants, experience from nuclear energy sector is valued. Previous experience in projects where requirements based design and systems engineering processes have been applied is a must in this role. In order to succeed in this role you need to have the ability to see the big picture and have a curious and development-oriented mindset.
Furthermore, you have a university level degree in relevant field of engineering and working with different stakeholders should come naturally for you. You communicate fluently both in Finnish and in English.
