    Job Summary:
    The Claims Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurately entering and processing insurance claims data. This role involves handling sensitive information, ensuring data accuracy, and adhering to privacy regulations. The clerk will ensure that all claims are processed in a timely and accurate manner, following established guidelines and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter insurance claims data into the system, including patient information, procedure codes, and billing amounts.
  • Ensure all entries are completed according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Identify when received claims do not have the minimum necessary information required for data entry.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of insurance claims information; Maintain a minimum of 98% accuracy at all times.
  • Correct any discrepancies and ensure all necessary information is included before submission.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all claims processed.
  • Identify and correct errors in claims submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Two years Previous experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with healthcare/insurance preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 coding is a plus.

Skills:

  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
