The City of Greensboro is seeking a talented Communications and Marketing Specialist to join our Communications Department. This dynamic role is ideal for an experienced communications professional who is passionate about storytelling, media engagement, and public service. As a key player in our Communications team, you will help shape the way our community interacts with City programs, services, and events through clear, compelling, and creative messaging.

Responsibilities:
- Writing and issuing news releases.
- Collaborating with the Graphic Services division to produce a wide array of marketing materials, including newsletters.
- Serving as a resource to non-media professionals in other City departments to assist with messaging and media opportunities.
- Acting as a liaison for assigned City departments, coordinating content, voice, and structure for cohesive messaging.
- Creating and drafting content for the City’s social media platforms to alert, educate, and inform the community about City programs, services, policies, and events.
- Assisting with proactive media outreach to pitch positive stories highlighting City programs and initiatives
