Description:

Helium Health is a full-service Healthtech company that provides a suite of solutions for healthcare providers, payers, and patients in emerging markets — at the core of which is our SaaS based electronic medical records/hospital management information system (EMR/HMIS).
We are recruiting to fill the position below:

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • The Compliance Manager will be responsible for implementing, updating and managing the Helium Health compliance program across the organization.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards and internal policies.
  • The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance measures are effectively adhered to and integrated into business processes is an important prerequisite.
  • The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related matters, proactively identifying and addressing potential compliance risks, and keeping abreast of changes in regulations and industry best practices in the regions of operation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field; with at least 6 - 8 years of experience in a similar compliance role within the Tech/Financial services industry/sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the company’s operations.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing effective corporate compliance programs.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams and guiding them toward compliance objectives.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving compliance-related issues.
  • Experience in managing and reporting on risk management and audit functions.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify potential compliance risks, determine its impact and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and plan.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to and communicate changes in regulatory environments and industry relating to the Helium Health’s diverse business lines.
  • Ability to utilise strong communication mediums and platforms to disseminate compliance-related information across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Implement the Helium Health compliance program:

  • Continuously improve and implement the Helium Health compliance program.
  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines to promote compliance throughout the organization.

Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations:

  • Stay current with local, regional, and international regulations impacting the industry, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments to identify potential areas of concern and take appropriate corrective actions.

Provide compliance guidance and training:

  • Develop and conduct organization wide sensitization sessions centered around the Helium Health compliance program to enhance compliance awareness and understanding.
  • Educate employees (new and old) on the Helium Health compliance requirements, fostering a strong compliance culture throughout the organization.
  • Share regular compliance updates via newsletters and companywide internal communications

Risk Identification:

  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement for the management of business risks that may exist within each respective department’s processes, procedures and controls
  • Develop, update and monitor the Helium Health compliance risk register and framework
  • Continuous update and monitoring of the Helium Health compliance risk register and framework at the business and corporate level.

Monitor and report on compliance activities:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the compliance program.
  • Regularly report on compliance activities and metrics to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform periodic audits to ensure and affirm adherence to the corporate compliance program.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams:

  • Work closely with legal and other relevant teams to ensure alignment of compliance efforts internally and with regulatory bodies and external partners
  • Provide compliance support and expertise to other departments in the development of new products, services, or processes.

Handle compliance incidents and investigations:

  • Lead investigations into potential compliance breaches and develop appropriate remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance-related incidents and resolve issues promptly.

Engage with regulatory authorities and external partners:

  • Participate in industry forums and associations to stay informed about emerging compliance trends and practices.
