Description:

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to help us set up a robust Compliance Program at a new financial entity. The ideal person will have sound experience in offshore operations at an international bank and will have a good proven knowledge of anti-money laundering and customer due diligence processes. We expect this person to have an entrepreneurial mentality and have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an effective compliance program that will make our new financial entity to fully comply with BSA, AML, KYC, Patriot Act, FinCEN, OFAC, and any other regulatory bodies
  • Create a robust internal controls process and insures 100% adherence
  • Proactively audit processes, practices, and documents to identify any risks and opportunities
  • Evaluate business activities (e.g. client onboarding, transactions) to assess compliance risks, opportunities, and weaknesses
  • Educate and train the rest of the team to make sure that Compliance becomes part of our DNA

Experience:

  • 3 years of proven compliance experience in an offshore financial role
  • 2 years experience in risk management and/ or financial audits
  • Working knowledge of Regulatory filing requirements for BSA, FinCEN, Treasury, and OCIF (We require specific knowledge of SARs)
  • Good understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and SHIELD
  • Proactive approach to finding and implementing best industry practices
  • Excellent research skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Integrity and professional ethics
  • Business acumen

Education:

  • University degree in law, finance, business administration or a related field
  • Professional certification is a plus

Languages:

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, additional languages a plus
