Contract and Lease Proofreader
Reports to: VP of Development
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Contract and Lease Proofreader Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and proofreading various contracts and leases to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with company policies and legal standards. This position is part time.

Contract and Lease Proofreader Responsibilities:

  • Review contracts and leases for grammatical, spelling, and typographical errors.
  • Ensure consistency in language, format, and terminology across all documents.
  • Verify that all contractual obligations are clearly defined and legally sound.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure documents meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide feedback to contract authors on potential improvements or corrections.
  • Maintain organized records of reviewed documents and revisions.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of proofreading guidelines and best practices.

Contract and Lease Proofreader Skills / Abilities:

  • Proven experience in proofreading or editing legal documents, contracts, or leases.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and concepts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • May work remotely.

Contract and Lease Proofreader Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in English, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.

Contract and Lease Proofreader Physical and / or Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Travel may be up to 5%
  • Prolonged stationary periods at a desk and working on a computer
