OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cook , who has a passion for cooking homely meals and enjoys working as part of a team
Wolfeton Manor is a 31 bedded care home looking for a cook to work shifts over a two week rolling rota, which would include alternate weekends.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in a similar role or within a restaurant or kitchen setting
  • A cooking qualification and food hygiene certificate is preferred, but not essential, as there will be opportunities for further training and development.
  • Ability to work efficiently on your own and within a team environment
  • Good communication skills
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £12.50 per hour

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook a well-balanced, nutritious diet within a controlled hygienic environment
  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, supper, daily snacks and items for our coffee mornings, and other resident/family gatherings throughout the year.
  • Present meals in a visually aesthetic manner
  • Prepare appropriate meals for any residents on specialised diets ( i.e pureed food)
  • Adhere to Health and Safety requirements regarding always maintaining a high standard of hygiene in accordance with the appropriate Food Hygiene Regulations and company policy
  • Ordering of supplies
  • To maintain varied and nutritious menus
  • To be aware of the residents needs and dietary preferences

DUTIES

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health and safety standards
  • Assist with the cleaning and organisation of the kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Adhere to all food hygiene and safety standards
