We are looking for a skilled and technically proficient Cyber Security Project Manager to lead critical cybersecurity initiatives for the City of Hamilton. This long-term contract role involves managing multiple projects, including cloud security, identity and access management, and data protection programs, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in dynamic environments, and possesses the expertise to work alongside security architects and engineers to ensure project success.

• Manage the planning and execution of multiple concurrent cybersecurity projects, including initiatives related to Azure AD, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender Suite, and Endpoint Protection.
• Oversee identity and access management projects, including privileged access and policy implementation.
• Drive cloud security initiatives across Azure and SaaS platforms, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
• Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including charters, schedules, logs, communication plans, and progress reports.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as IT Infrastructure, Compliance, Privacy, and Data Governance, as well as external vendors.
• Facilitate internal audits and security assessments by coordinating evidence collection and ensuring proper documentation.
• Monitor regulatory and policy compliance deliverables aligned with frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001.
• Work with data governance teams to integrate ownership, access controls, and data security measures into projects.
• Provide executive-level reporting and regular updates to IT leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Standardize project delivery processes to enhance efficiency within the security program.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT Project Management, including at least 3 years in cybersecurity-focused roles.
• Proven track record in delivering projects related to cloud security, governance, risk, compliance, and identity management.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft security tools, including Azure AD, Defender Suite, M365, and Conditional Access.
• Strong understanding of data protection practices, including audit readiness, risk management, policy enforcement, and data classification.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decisions and navigate resistance effectively.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP or equivalent) is required; additional certifications in security (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are preferred.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Atlassian Jira, CRM systems, ERP platforms, and Cisco technologies.
• Proficiency in budget management, strategy implementation, and quality assurance processes.
