Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The University of New Mexico Student Health & Counseling clinic (SHAC) is recruiting for a skilled and detail-oriented EHR Data Analyst to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting electronic health records (EHR) data to support clinical decision-making, improve patient outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include extracting and compiling data from various EHR systems, developing insightful reports, and conducting detailed data analysis to identify trends and patterns. The EHR Data Analyst will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, IT staff, and management to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Duties performed will include:
Data Management and Analysis:
- Analyze clinical data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data.
Reporting and Visualization:
- Develop and generate regular and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders.
- Create visualizations and dashboards to present data findings.
- Assist in the interpretation of data and report findings to healthcare professionals.
Data Quality and Integrity:
- Conduct data quality assessments and audits.
- Implement data quality improvement initiatives.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).
- Maintain documentation for data governance and compliance purposes.
Support and Training:
- Develop user guides and training materials.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving EHR-related issues.
Research and Development:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on data-driven initiatives.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in health informatics.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical, and administrative staff.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.
The Student Health & Counseling Center is located at the center of campus. The clinic provides comprehensive primary and mental health services and has a laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, case management, and health promotions on site. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
