Description:

The LATAM Chief Data Officer team is a new function in Citi as part of its Data Transformation Strategy, responsible for drives data governance for the region’s data and the adoption of consistent standards and capabilities.
This role will report directly to the Latam Data Integrations Head. The Latam Data Integrations Lead will be responsible for improving data trustworthiness and data usage across the business. This role will be responsible to redesign procedures for various data management processes to align with Citi’s Data Governance Policy (CDGP), ensure consistent execution of these procedures along with the Data Operating Model (DOM) globally and maximize the use and value of data for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximize the use and value of data for the business.
  • Be a thought leader for Data Governance. Share best practices. Identify ways to simplify and enhance ways to adhere to Citi’s Data Governance Policy (CDGP).
  • Be a trusted advisor and partner to the supporting functions and stakeholders.
  • Translate the requirements for enterprise data management initiatives and commitments into actionable components that can be delivered wholly or in increments.
  • Lead execution and adoption of business-critical data capabilities, leveraging industry-leading data techniques.
  • Review tactical implications for data domains, businesses, and global functions ensuring target state goals.
  • Reinforce that an enterprise data strategy view is represented in requirements; partnering with Businesses / Global Functions that perform business and data analyses.
  • Partner across businesses, global functions, data domain owners to obtain buy-in to the business strategy, interim and target states, and supporting execution plans and driving adoption.
  • Present status updates, issues / challenges / risks and solutions to senior management, stakeholders, and partners in a succinct manner to drive decision-making and actions.
  • Lead meetings to solve issues / challenges / risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view.
  • Understand the business and business processes to provide insights into critical data elements, their governance and management and consistent usage, to maximize the trustworthiness in the data in for reporting, analytics, controls, risk management, etc.
  • Implement and adopt the data quality strategy for the specific business unit or data owners, in line with the Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO) strategy.
  • Prioritize and drive the integration and adoption of all necessary tools, processes, and procedures for an effective data management strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering or Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Master’s degree is preferred, but not required.
  • At least 7+ years of combined experience in banking and financial services industry and/or 3+ years in business analysis in specific banking functions or applications, developing standards, processes and specifications.
  • Experience includes managing / leading data and data quality initiatives, aligning business processes with data, implementing technology solutions, developing, or supporting standards / policies and data-related issue management and remediation efforts.
  • Demonstrated relationship management and advisory skills with sponsors, key stakeholders, partners, and team members.
  • Good presentation skills, business and technical writing, and verbal communication skills to support decision-making and actions.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex data governance issues, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry information affecting the business environment.
  • Willingness to pitch-in with other team members. Entrepreneurial spirit to identify problems or challenges and solve them.
