About the team:
As Data Test Engineer you will join the Testing department at OSB Group, which currently has c60 staff in the UK and India and you will report into the Data Test Manager. This is a brand new role that will lead & coordinate data test planning & execution activity across OSB Group systems that are subject to development & change and also coach and mentor staff in India.
The role can be based from our Chatham or Wolverhampton office

What you will be doing:
As Data Test Engineer you will work closely with internal Data development & client teams, implementing & adhering to Data Test Quality processes & policies, whilst delivering to data standards and best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain tailored test plans, cases, and scripts for data validation
• Scope, plan, prepare & coordinate the data test activity for projects, releases, change and defect fixes to achieve successful delivery to time & quality
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge and level of expertise of the OSB Data Warehouses & Reporting systems to support each testing projects
• Conduct data mapping and integration testing to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
• Validate data transformations, mappings, and business rules with data engineers and developers.
• Write complex & structured SQL queries to interrogate databases
• Document test plans, results, and reports
• Communicate test progress, risks, and issues to team members

In return for your commitment:

We offer a base salary dependent on location and experience between £50,000 - £60,000 and a competitive benefits package including:

Could you be the one?:

We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

• Previous experience as a Data Test Analyst/ Data Quality Analyst with experience data testing concepts and methodologies
• Proficiency designing and executing data tests, profiling, quality assessment, and validation
• Strong analytical and reporting skills to identify and analyse data
• Knowledge and experience of writing complex SQL queries and database interrogation
• Understanding of testing methodologies and frameworks
• Experience in system integration, regression testing, and user acceptance testing
• Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB)
