Pivotal Point, LLC (Pivotal Point) isseeking a full-time Database Administrator. Founded in 2008, Pivotal Point supports the Federal Government and Businesses with professional services in Program/Project Management; Critical Infrastructure Maintenance and Operations Support Services; Inside Plant Services; Network Engineering; Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Engineering; VoIP Maintenance and Operations Services; IT and Telecommunications Asset and Inventory Management; and Business Process Analysis and Consulting Services.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases within the confines of Government-provided software tools and desktop management services. This role requires ensuring that any revisions, re-architecture, and resulting code changes do not negatively affect database access calls embedded in the screen code being changed. The DBA will define users, enable data distribution, use high-speed transaction recovery techniques, and backup data. Additionally, the DBA will minimize database downtime, manage parameters for fast query responses, and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • IAT Level: 2
  • Information Assurance (IA) Certification: Sec+ (Security+) or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, Db2, Oracle, backup and recovery, security, scripting, automation, and knowledge of database migrations.
  • Government Software Tools Compliance: Ability to work within the confines of Government-provided software tools and desktop management services.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining databases, as well as ensuring data security, privacy, and integrity.
