Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE

The depot supervisor is responsible for the administration and operation of the maintenance depot (including a maintenance building and a stabling yard). The main functions include the management of depot rolling stock (RST) operations (including train movement) and the management of storage and warehousing within the depot and coordination of activities within the depot (such as maintenance, cleaning). The role will also be responsible for coordinating the activities of Siemens Mobility (SMO) Customer Service (CS) – the rolling stock maintainer within the depot.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Readiness activities

  • Contribute to the Verification and Validation process (gate reviews, production, milestones, evidence) defined by D&C.
  • Development of the RDWSA network rules and procedures, plans, SOPs, and other procedures applicable to Stabling and Maintenance Facility (SMF) activities.

Manage depot operations

  • Oversee all operations within the depot
  • Coordinate all access and egress from the maintenance building and stabling yard
  • Coordinate depot operations with the RST maintainer, SMO CS.
  • Coordinate maintenance and support activities to be completed on site between parties
  • Ensure that all activities are completed safely and in accordance with the RATP Dev Western Sydney Airport (RDWSA) SMS.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the depot
  • Support the development of processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the depot and stabling yard

Manage Train Operations within the depot

  • Operate the depot train control system to control stabling of trains,
  • Coordinate and authorise all rolling stock (including trains, IMVs and Hi-rails) movements within the depot (including UTO and manual)
  • Liaise with OCC for coordination of train movements between mainline and depot boundary
  • Support the preparation and readiness of trains for revenue service (train waking etc)

Manage warehouse and storage operations

  • Manage the warehouse manager
  • Ensure warehousing operations are conducted safely with minimal impact to depot operations
  • Coordinate the logistical functions (such as dispatch and deliveries of stores and items) to minimise impact to depot operations

Infrastructure Maintenance Vehicles (IMV) & plant operations

  • Manage the machine operators (primary operators of IMVs and depot plant)
  • Delivery of the IMV and plant training to machine operators
  • Support D&C during testing and commissioning with the operation of IMVs
  • Operate track machines and plant if required
  • Coordinate the deployment and operation of IMVs as required
  • Support SMO CS, RDWSA Maintenance teams and sub-contractors through provision of IMV operation if required
  • Support Learning and Competency team in delivering training to rolling stock operators

Support testing and commissioning and operational readiness

  • Support Park Life Metro D&C with testing and commissioning activities by managing depot operations and operating IMV/Plant as required
  • Develop operational processes and procedures required to be implemented
  • Support the recruitment of the depot and warehouse staffLiaise with SMO CS to develop interface protocols for working in the depot
