For a more detailed job description and main responsibilities, please see Job Description and Person Specification: Clinical & Professional Responsibilities: Provide nursing support and advice, especially after hours, for patient care and referral to medical staff. Perform clinical interventions and teach procedures to ward staff. Ensure effective communication regarding patient care and management. Maintain theoretical knowledge and ensure safe equipment use.
Promote infection prevention and reduce hospital-acquired infections. Develop and maintain clinical skills and implement evidence-based practice. Management Responsibilities: Assist in hospital operations and provide leadership for patient care. Coordinate emergency responses and manage bed resources effectively.
Foster good relationships with staff, patients, and multidisciplinary teams. Redeploy staff as needed and ensure adherence to standards. Act as a role model and maintain professionalism. Capacity Management: Participate in capacity meetings and maintain accurate bed state information.
Coordinate with personnel to optimise bed utilisation. Ensure timely and safe discharge and transfer of patients. Troubleshoot issues in the patient pathway and escalate infection control concerns. Support site management 24/7 and collect capacity data for audits.
Education Responsibilities: Teach and create a positive learning environment. Assist in training programs for staff. Maintain research-based practice and participate in nursing initiatives. Continuously enhance own knowledge through education and training.
Clinical Governance Responsibilities: Participate in clinical benchmarking programs. Ensure adherence to infection control practices. Support staff in acquiring clinical competencies. Supervise staff for professional development and patient safety.
Maintain comprehensive and timely record keeping. Proactively address complaints and incidents and identify own development needs
