DIRECTOR OF FINANCE – FULL TIME

Location: Madelia | Schedule: Full-Time
Madelia Health is seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Director of Finance to join our leadership team. The Director of Finance will provide oversight of all financial operations, guide financial strategy, and ensure the organization’s continued financial health in support of Madelia Health’s mission of delivering patient-centered healthcare with excellence in quality, service, and access.
This position is a key advisor to the CEO and works closely with senior leaders and the Board of Directors to ensure financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth for Madelia Health.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field required; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of five years of healthcare financial administration experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare cost reporting, Critical Access Hospital regulations, and nonprofit healthcare finance practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle, investments, and reporting.
  • Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors in planning, evaluating, and implementing organizational initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term growth and sustainability.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for leadership and Board decision-making.
  • Oversee internal controls, audits, and risk management processes.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, including Patient Accounts, Controller, Admissions/Reception, HR/Payroll, and IT.
  • Provide financial input on contracts, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and staff professional development.
