SUMMARY:

The Distribution Lead works closely with the Distribution Supervisor and other leads to ensure that orders are efficiently and accurately picked, packed and shipped. In addition, the Distribution Lead will train all new picker/packers in the RF Guns and packing on the packing computers along with all the procedures that entails. The Distribution Lead must have a high degree of flexibility within their work schedule to cover for other Distribution Leads in different functional areas with different schedules.

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diplom

Preferred Requirements:

  • 2 or more years’ lead or supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution environment. Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in management or equivalent experiences a plus.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, hand trucks, and carts.
  • Basic math skills and computer skills required such as MS Word, MS Excel and & MS Outlook

Responsibilities
  • Assists in overseeing the day-to-day functions of the warehouse.
  • Participates in weekly management meetings to evaluate safety, quality, productivity and staffing goals.
  • Monitors open order volume and continuously adjusts work assignments as necessary to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Participates in the coordination of safety exercises including tornado and fire drills.
  • Meets with employees one-on-one for weekly or monthly reviews of quality and productivity data. Coaches and counsels those who are not meeting expectations.
  • Evaluates error and dating reports to ensure product rotation.
  • Ensures that all case-pick orders are processed accurately and timely.
  • Provides input and assists with employee performance reviews.
  • Trains staff on lift truck operation.
  • Ensures that cycle counts are continuously up to date. Reports status regularly to Distribution Supervisor.
  • Sign for deliveries as needed. Log receivables while paying special attention to lot numbers, quantities and expiration dates.
  • Utilizes RF units and carts to move newly received items to warehouse locations.
  • Lead a team of individuals designated to the receiving area in daily operations including stocking, put-away, sorting and product check-in.
  • Assists employees with inventory or system issues.
  • Ensures warehouse equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Basic facility maintenance including conveyors and a variety of printing and labeling equipment.
  • Performs equipment safety checks as per policy.
  • Moving and set-up of new or old flow racking, shelving, and pallet rack.
  • Monitors supply volume and places orders through a variety of approved vendors.
  • Participates in the evaluation and hiring of new staff.
  • Assists Supervisor in coordinating the training of new staff on picking and packing procedures including new employee orientation and safety training.
  • Ensures all areas are cleaned and organized for the next day’s activities.
  • Posts daily staffing and duty assignments for the next business day prior to closing.
  • Assists the Distribution Supervisor in meeting evening deadlines, closing and securing the facility.
  • May be on a call tree to respond 24/7 to incidents or alarm calls.
  • May be asked to work extended hours in the event of a crisis or urgent business need
