GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform moderately complex (journey-level) customer service and inventory work. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; organizing and issuing supplies; and monitoring inventory levels. Receive materials and stocks items using first-in, first-out inventory management practices. May train others. Work under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education – Graduation from a standard senior-high school or equivalent is required.
Experience – Minimum of one (1) year experience receiving, issuing, and/or storing stock is preferred.
Licensure and/or Certification – Must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.
Inventory Knowledge – Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures and practices. Knowledge of methods and procedures used in receiving, storing, and issuing stock.
Mechanical Skills – Ability to operate mechanical lifting devices, motor vehicles, and office machines.
Technology (computers/hardware/software/operating systems) – Must possess appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems and be able to learn new software/systems. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Organizational and Prioritization Skills – Must be organized, flexible, and able to effectively prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment; able to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy, timeliness or professionalism. Ability to classify and identify stock by sight. Ability to plan and implement the rotating of stock on a first-in, first-out basis.
Presentation/Communication Skills – Must be able to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations to a variety of audiences and/or individuals.
Interpersonal Skills – Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
Confidentiality and Protected Information – Must demonstrate an ability to responsibly handle sensitive and confidential information and situations, and adhere to applicable laws/statutes/policies related to access, maintenance and dissemination of information.
Safety – Must be able to work in safe manner at all times, avoiding shortcuts that have potential adverse results/risks, and must be able to comply with safety standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Receive, fill and ship requisitions for law enforcement and support staff equipment including weapons, forms, books, and other supply items utilizing internal computer software systems. Monitor stock levels and inform manager and/or purchaser of low stock quantities.
  2. Maintain neatness and cleanliness of work area.
  3. Rotate stock for prevention of deterioration and spoilage. Receive incoming items, check purchase order and freight bill for quantity and accuracy, and stock items according to first-in, first-out inventory principles.
  4. Monitor inventory and stock control records following loss prevention and agency guidelines.
  5. Prepare inventory requisitions for shipment.
  6. May train others.
  7. Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
