We are UnitiWall and we’re seeking a skilled Electromechanics - Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical repairs. Your expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC software will be essential in maintaining and troubleshooting our machinery and manufacturing equipment.

  • Gloves, Hearing protection, Safety glasses and/or face shields
  • Safety harnesses for fall protection
  • Safety shoes
  • Flame retardant uniform

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications, but even if you don’t have them all, we still want to hear from you!

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical repairs on CNC machines. PLC experience is an asset.
  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary program in a mechanical or electro-mechanical field (such as industrial mechanic, millwright, mechanical technician/technologist) is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and ability to trace PLC software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code and possession of an Ontario Electrical License are assets.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and Verniers.
  • Good communication skills, to converse with all levels of company employees, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Solid organization skills and ability to complete maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs on CNC machines, including roll forming equipment.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs on all capital equipment.
  • Support manufacturing operations in trouble shooting electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Participate in and complete preventative maintenance tasks within the company Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Participate in company projects related to new or modified equipment involving installation, design, and repair.
  • Read blueprints, electrical schematics, and drawings to determine how to repair equipment.
  • Provide specification or source repair components for machinery or electrical repairs.
  • Support, participate in and utilize all Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation relative to the work performed.
  • In instances of serious equipment failures, conduct investigations to determine the cause of the breakdown and to recommend remedial action to prevent recurrence.
  • Adhere to established safety practices and requirements pertaining to the type of work involved; recommend additional safety measures as required.
  • Utilize all electrical company safety practices and policies in repairing company equipment.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Manager.
  • Shift schedules might vary from time to time based on business needs.
