Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Lead and perform Low Cycle Fatigue Analysis to support the design, analysis, test, field investigation, qualification/certification, and life extension of life limited rotor components.
The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline (Life Management) covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Planning and decision making may be required but this is typically with guidance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Solid contribution in a similar role or previous position
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
  • English skills: Must be able to maintain a conversation.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions.
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • With minimal guidance from experienced Engineers, assume ownership for assigned life analysis including pro-active engineering support of customer requirements.
  • Understand technical criteria controlling LCF and FM for each critical location on the assigned hardware
  • Recognize the funding sources, program tracking requirements, cost objectives and priorities for assigned analysis tasks
  • Provide support for global partners
  • With minimal guidance from experienced Engineers, lead, plan and execute the analysis, test, and qualification/certification of rotor components as part of CIP, NPI, Life updates or certification programs
  • Perform LCF and residual life analyses
  • Iterate analysis as needed to meet technical/customer requirements
  • Write qualification/certification reports,
  • Keep continuous communication with Systems engineering and Program leaders
  • Effectively work with cross functional teams. Coordinate with technical teams as needed including heat transfer, materials, stress analysis, performance, methods, and mission analysis groups.
  • Provide training for co-ops, interns, other “new” engineers
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
