THE COMPANY
B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Four (4) years of environmental science work experience on either a remote construction of mining site, with arctic knowledge and experience being a significant asset;
- Undergraduate degree in Geology, Environmental Sciences or Engineering; and
- Professional certification through the Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board as an Environment Practitioner-in-training (EPt), with full accreditation as an Environmental Practitioner (EP) being a significant asset.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the implementation of environmental monitoring (as required by permits and authorizations) and baseline programs required for the environmental assessment and permitting process;
- Conducts environmental site assessments for remediations planning, construction monitoring, erosion, and sediment control;
- Supervises investigations of incidents involving environmental contamination and drafts detailed reports intended for internal stakeholders and external regulators as required by law;
- Collects and analyzes soils, tundra, waste pit and groundwater samples required for drafting technical reports;
- Assist with development and implementation of an environmental management system and ensure adherence to the system;
- Utilizes knowledge of remediation and environmental principles to advise site management in the proper execution of project deliverables and tasks whilst adhering to environmental best practices;
- Conducts environmental monitoring according to B2Gold Nunavut’s policies; and
- Assists with preparation of additional permits and approvals, or amendments as required.
