Polygon Group is now accelerating its ESG efforts and is looking for a Group ESG controller to strengthen the HQ team in Stockholm.

About the role
The Group ESG controller will play a crucial role to ensure that Polygon Group achieves its strategic ESG targets, exceed stakeholder expectations and meet its increasing reporting obligations.
As the Group ESG controller you will be responsible for collecting, as well as controlling and reporting ESG data. You will act as the Group’s ESG reporting expert and lead the work in compiling the Group’s sustainability report.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the ESG agenda, including key standards and frameworks related to climate, human rights, and other relevant areas.
You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the flow of data and information within the environmental, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG) areas. This data and information are used both for assessing Polygon’s ESG performance and to support strategic decisions made by management and the board.
You will be joining the Sustainability team in the Finance department at Group level, collaborating closely across countries and functions. This position reports directly to the Group Head of Sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement future ESG reporting structure and processes in accordance with applicable standards and legislation such as CSRD (ESRS), EU taxonomy & CSDDD;
    Lead implementation and establishment of relevant data points and quality assured data sources throughout the Group.

Drive the development of reporting procedures and tools.

  • Collect data and establish efficient processes and systems to consolidate the data.
  • Perform periodic analytical review and monitoring of ESG reporting from Group companies and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness in the reporting as well as progress within the ESG area.
  • Conduct ESG reporting internally and externally (e.g. reports to owners, customers, management);

Be the Group’s sustainability reporting expert, with the responsibility for the Polygon Group Sustainability report.
Facilitate and support the audit process for both limited assurance and reasonable assurance.
Answer questions from different stakeholders, such as customers, investors, lenders, creditors.
This is a full-time position with a start date as soon as possible. The position is located at the head office in Stockholm.
Requirements and skills
Relevant education in finance, accounting, auditing and/or sustainability.
Work experience within controlling and ESG reporting.
Up-to-date knowledge and work experience on the new EU regulations, leading frameworks and standards governing Environmental, Social and Governance reporting (such as for example CSRD/ESRS, EU taxonomy, GRI, TFCD).
Experience in performing, implementing and developing ESG reporting, monitoring and controlling processes (everything from climate to human rights).
Experience in preparing sustainability reports.
Experience from similar roles in service companies and/or similar roles in fast growing companies is qualifying.
Full professional proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English.
Strong in Microsoft Office, with excellent skills in Excel.
Skills to use Power BI or equivalent business intelligence tools.
Strong analytical capability and project leading skills.
Self-leadership with ability to organize, prioritize and structure own work and deliver results with high quality and speed.
Strong collaboration and relationship building skills as well as communication skills across functions, levels, countries and cultures.
