Description:
New World Stonefields is seeking a talented and versatile baker to join our dynamic team in one of the best in-store bakeries in Auckland. If you have a passion for baking and you are looking to grow your craft and advance your skills whilst pursuing your passion, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
Reporting to the Bakery Manager, you will look after our evening production of Quiches, Pies & other in house made pastry items.
Duties include:
- Production of our in-store made items such as quiches, pies & other pastry items.
- Adhere to proper baking techniques, temperature control, and cooking times to achieve optimal results.
- Maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work station through general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned to adhere to standards.
- Responsible for quality control to ensure consistency by monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance.
- Ensuring all baked goods are completed on time.
- Operating baking equipment safely and ensuring cleanliness at all times.
You will have the following skills and attributes:
- At least 1-2 years’ relevant experience in a bakery setting with a passion for baking!
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices
- An energetic performer with an upbeat, positive attitude
- Able to work in a hot and fast-paced environment
- Quality focused with high presentation standards
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong collaboration skills
- Ability to use initiative
- Good communication skills
- The drive and enthusiasm for the position
- Ability to lift up to 20kg on a regular basis
- Physically fit to fulfil the requirements of the role
- Own transport is essential.
This is a full-time position working Sunday to Thursday 1pm until 10pm.
