Description:

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • CITB Site Supervisors Safety Training or equivalent.
  • Experience in asset management system software would be useful.
  • Intermediate PC Skills - high standard of document production and report writing.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Supervisor experience.
  • IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate would be desirable.

Founded in 1885, The North British Distillery Company Ltd (North British) is one of Scotland’s oldest and largest Scotch Whisky producers. We originally operated under the structure of a co-operative until 1993 and are now owned as a joint venture between Diageo plc and The Edrington Group.
We are a distillation and maturation business selling grain spirit which is used as the base for blended Scotch Whisky by many well-known brands. The Distillery is based in Gorgie (Edinburgh) and this site is responsible for the production of new-make spirit, producing a by-product of animal feed, and energy via an Anaerobic Digestion plant. Our main Warehousing site is based in Muirhall (Addiewell, West Lothian), with 15 maturation warehouses and responsibility for bonding, storage and disgorging.

Responsibilities:

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To lead with the planning and delivery of facilities tasks by contractors and facilities staff at Muirhall, Livingston and Broxburn sites.
Skills & Experience:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Working as part of a team to ensure that all activities on site are carried out in accordance with the relevant work instruction, adhering to the necessary Company health, safety and environmental requirements and complying with all regulatory current legislation to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  2. Maintaining an awareness of the regulatory and Company standards that apply to the role such as H&S, COMAH, Environment, HMRC, ISO9001. – Understand and act in accordance with the Site Emergency Response Plan in the event of an evacuation or major incident, and regularly participate in COMAH improvement activity.
  3. Manage and coordinate PMs associated with facilities and security duties. Review associated work order close out, job sheets and cleaning checklists.
  4. Plan workload including ad hoc reactive tasks using asset management (MAXIMO).
  5. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure no SIMOPS of planned work and communicate work plans to operations and department managers as required by specific tasks e.g road surfacing, floor rail replacements and roof works.
  6. Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements, WIRASs and Job Plans preparing required Permits to Work.
  7. Supervise contractors and facilities team ensuring work delivered to the required standard.
  8. Carry out PFRs for facilities team, focus on regular 1:1s to manage and monitor performance.
  9. Assist in the review of the revenue budget monitoring.
  10. Any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your contractual role.
