Description:
Downer Rail & Transit Systems has over 100 years’ rail experience providing end-to-end, innovative transport solutions. Downer Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) has the largest rollingstock capability in Australia.
We are seeking to appoint a Finance Business Partner who will partner with Rail & Transit Systems (RTS) – Emerging Markets (Freight, Digital and Data) business units by providing analytical support and business insights.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or equivalent business experience
- At least 6-7 years’ experience in commercial/business partnering in a medium size commercial organisation or a major accountancy firm.
- Previous experience working with procurement and supply chain teams is advantageous
- Management and modelling of long-term contract position
- Significant portion of experience in commercial finance roles including analysis, budgeting, planning and forecasting
- Advanced MS Excel modelling skills is essential
- Ability to report and analyse financial information
- Ability to translate financial data into useful information for those across all levels of an organisation
Responsibilities:
- Partner with P/L Owners of Freight, Digital and xDNA in decision support, planning, operational performance management and formulation, implementation and execution of business strategies.
- Oversee the Forecast Cost At Completion models (FCAC) across the project streams and ensuring appropriate controls are in place. This role develops and leads the FCAC update and review process for the projects.
- Business partnering through providing modelling and analytical support for the team.
- A continued focus on project revenue recognition, project costs, aged debtors, Work in Progress (WIP) profile, project variations and margin management.
- Development of financial and analytical models to support decision making.
