JOB TITLE: Finance Manager, SME
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh or Bristol
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our Edinburgh office
About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for several motivated individuals to join the Strategic Ledger team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The core purpose of the role is to support Finance with the adoption of Strategic Oracle tooling.
This role requires a strong finance systems background and the ability to establish effective relationships as you work closely with key stakeholders across all areas of the business. Your ability to provide insightful advice and appropriate challenge to these stakeholders is central to the role and helps ensure that any changes required to finance applications are supported and implemented in a controlled way.

Day to day you’ll be;
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the Business.
- Assessing and managing the impact of operational, quarterly releases and project change on the relevant systems and business processes.
- Providing support for live implementations.
- Supporting BAU through the investigation and resolution of system incidents and issues impacting the finance applications.
- Making use of Industry Best practice to suggests improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures.

What you’ll need
- Experience in supporting Finance teams/function with the adoption of Strategic Oracle tooling.
- Ability to identify key issues, break down problems and establish facts.
- Energetic, tenacious in the achievement of goals and operates at pace. Has a ‘can / will do’ approach and must be prepared to be hands on.
- Possesses the flexibility and drive to support a changing, dynamic business. Looks for opportunities to simplify and improve within a changing environment. Communicates and explains change effectively.
- Experience in complex finance systems and change methodology preferred. Exhibits high level of curiosity around technology, markets, and the business area.
- A qualified accountant or qualified by experience in a Finance environment.
