REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in General Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment; processing and payroll tax returns preparation exposure (accounts payable experience desired)
  • Proficiency with computerized payroll systems; experience with electronic time & attendance system (Kronos preferred)
  • Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in personal computer applications (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook)
  • Well organized and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities
  • Incumbent is responsible for General Accounting Journal entries such as Cash, Management Fees, Dividends, among others. Perform BS account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Prepare Yearly Business Plan and Quarterly LBE for PR Capital Plan (SJMPRLLC). Responsible for BS Quarterly analysis and monthly Capital Plan Tracking.
  • Sarbanes Oxley compliance / audit - Incumbent is the designee from SJM internal Audit group to be the fixed assets area SOX process owner. Among other things, the SOX process owner is responsible to Work the timely review and update of SOX process documentation and key internal controls; identify and communicate SOX process and control changes (past or anticipated); communicate any knowledge of fraud or misstatement of account balance.
  • Application Data Owner & Training - This position is responsible for Concur and Dodeca updates. The incumbent is responsible to train new system users and maintain current users updated with any system modifications. Also, the position identifies and implements the applications security controls.
  • Review /Prepare Payroll and Accounts Payable Tax Returns – Review the preparation of FICA and FUTA tax return by the HCM Payroll Team in USA; review the processing of payments and withholdings such as 401k savings plan, stock purchase plan, United Way and garnishments on a timely basis and in compliance with local and Federal laws & regulations. Prepare 480’s forms. In charge of reconciling any issues related to these items with the SAP Team in USA. In charge of IVU tax returns and payments (SURI).
  • This position is the back up for payroll area and end of month reporting.
  • Other duties - provides assistance in other Finance department areas such as Balance Sheet Account analysis, and any other requested tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all SJM and Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
