Founded in 1897, Piedmont College is a private, comprehensive liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students at campuses in Demorest and Athens, Georgia. Unless specified otherwise, position is for the main campus in Demorest, Georgia.
Piedmont College invites applications for the full-time position of Financial Analyst II.


 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; three (3) years higher education experience or Master’s degree preferred;
 Demonstrated experience working in a team-oriented environment on a college campus considered an asset;
 Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of all positions;
 Employees are expected to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of their department and the College;
 Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
 Advanced Excel skills including pivot table design and proficient use of advanced functions required; and
 On site duties required.


 3+ years related experience, preferably in a high volume, fast paced environment;
 Strong knowledge of US GAAP, FASB, internal controls and financial reporting;
 Prior experience with full profit and loss analysis;
 Previous management & leadership experience with ability to organize, lead change and motivate cross functionally to meet company objectives;
 Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions;
 Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and communication skills;
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
 Think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational culture;
 Exhibit a thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the position;
 Possess a working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis techniques;
 Take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved;
 Anticipate, investigate, and analyze problems and address them proactively;

Responsible for detailed, in-depth financial analysis to facilitate Administration’s informed decision-making related to operations. Responsible for general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.
The Financial Analyst will:
 Support functional area leaders with reporting and analysis needs;
 KPI analysis;
 Consolidate and analyze internal and external data to assist in achieving the company’s goals;
 Improve financial status and performance by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, providing creative alternatives and recommendations;
 Determine cost of operations by establishing standard costs and analysis of operational drivers of financial performance;
 Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis;
 Forecast quarterly and annual profits;
 Prepare cost projections and models;
 Analyze and report on current financial status;
 Identify and analyze actual results vs. budget/forecast providing root cause of variances;
 Assist in the budgeting and forecasting creation and monitoring;
 Compare anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement;
 Review accounting transactions for data accuracy;
 Establish financial policies;
 Assist with management of faculty contracts, performs ad hoc payroll analysis and serves as Payroll
Manager’s backup;
 Ensure overall accounting department is in compliance with US GAAP, FASB, and adheres to college policies and maintains appropriate internal controls;
 Drive process improvements by identifying and developing more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy to meet departmental objectives;
 Recommend and develop policies, processes, and systems to meet institutional objectives; and
 Other duties as assigned.
